    • Marshall Steam Museum at Auburn Heights: Time: 12:30 to 4:30pm Location: Marshall Steam Museum at Auburn Heights Description: Celebrate stars, stripes, and steam during Steamin’ Day at Auburn Heights over the 4th of July holiday weekend. This event will feature a special spotlight on small engines. Join us and visit our special guests’ displays of functional engines of all sorts. To coincide with this display, our special kids activity will include a building area where kids can see what they can put together using only recycled materials collected by our volunteers. These special activities will be in addition to all of the regular Steamin’ Day activities that let our visitors to imagine what life was like when the car was in its infancy through special demonstrations, rides in historic automobiles such as the 1915 steam-powered Stanley Mountain Wagon, the museum and more.     • 28th Annual OC Tuna Tournament: The 28th Annual OC Tuna Tournament - The East Coast's largest Tuna Tournament Come see over 100 boats weigh-in large tuna in hopes of winning over $500,000 in cash.     • Greek Festival: Delmarva's largest Greek Festival comes to the Roland E. Powell Convention Center for "All things Greek" July 10-13, 2015. Doors open daily at 12 noon to feed hungry Greek Festival goers authentic traditional Greek cuisine. Have a leisurely lunch and shop from the many unique vendors of jewelry, imports and art. Then hit the beach and come back for dinner & dancing when the place really rocks, after 5pm, to the Greek sounds of Golden Flame. Not shy, grab a hand and dance!     • Possum Point Players Auditions for HAIRSPRAY!!: Georgetown DE – Possum Point Players have scheduled auditions for the award-winning Broadway musical, “Hairspray.” Auditions are Saturday, July 11, 1-5 P.M., and Sunday, July 12, 6-10 P.M.; auditions are held in Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Rd., Georgetown. Show dates of “Hairspray” are Oct. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. Director Michael Murnin is seeking a multi-racial cast of men and women from 16-years of age and up. Those auditioning are to prepare 16 to 32 bars of a pop song and bring sheet music for the accompanist. They should also bring a resume and photo, and all should dress appropriately to dance.Detailed audition information is available on the web site, possumpointplayers.org, including individual character descriptions.     • Sundaes in the Park & Fireworks: Bring your picnic basket and beach chairs to Northside Park on 125th Street for ice cream sundaes and live entertainment. Sundaes in the Park is a family concert series offered most Sunday evenings in July and August from 7pm to 9pm. For a small fee, enjoy your own ice cream sundae creation as you listen to your musical favorites and watch the sunset over the beautiful Assawoman Bay. Children's entertainment is also presented each week. The night will end with a fireworks display at 9pm.     • Ocean Games / Swim OC / East Coast SUPCUP: Swim Ocean City is a point-to-point swim event. The event is to raise donations for Johns Hopkins Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Program (ONRP). ONRP has been instrumental in the rehabilitation of Corey Davis, Ocean City native, since his motorcycle accident in 2006. The swims run parallel to the shoreline and will be conducted in cooperation with the phenomenal OC Beach Patrol crew and Coast Guard. Newbies and seasoned swimmers are welcome! Ocean Games is a WOWSA sanctioned open water swim with three distances (1-mile, 3-mile, and 9-mile) along the coast of Ocean City, MD. The event includes a paddleboard race that has two races (elite and amateur) that simultaneously occurs with the swim and will be contained within the Division Street and Caroline Street beach front.     • 37th Annual Sandcastle Contest: Over 100 teams and 800+ participants are expected to express their artistic flair at the 37th Annual Sandcastle Contest on August 1. Past creations have included Swamp Animals, Mermaids, Pyramids, Crabs, Dolphins, Sharks and of course traditional sandcastles.     • Lewes Historical Society Antique Show: Nearly 60 high quality dealers participate in the show that features 18th century to early 20th century antiques. All pieces are authentic and represent a wide range of prices. There is something for every taste and every level of collecting sophistication at the show. Dealers who will be at the show represent a wide variety of interests including oriental rugs, Sandwich glass and other glassware, antique musical instruments and phonographs, colonial and Victorian furnishings as well as other fine period pieces, oyster plates and other regional china as well as antiquarian books and antique jewelry. Several dealers specialize in early twentieth century collectibles. The ambiance of the outdoor show, inside the shady grove of mature oaks, magnolias, hollies and cypress and surrounded by nine of the historical society's twelve historic house museums adds to the experience. The beautiful grounds where the show is held have been featured in publications such as Home & Garden, Colonial Living and the television show Good Morning America. Casa Amici will feature a food booth, while Vitelli's Ice Cream and Water Ice will provide refreshing treats. "This antique show is a Lewes institution. Many families plan their vacation time at the beach around this event. Many dealers and visitors comment that they enjoy the traditional feel of the event as well as the ambiance of an outdoor show in such a beautiful setting," Historical Society Executive Director Michael DiPaolo said.     • Senior Softball World Series: The 2015 Series is scheduled to commence August 2 2015. All the games are played at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex in Sussex County, Delaware. The schedule of games is posted in the Schedule section of this web site. The Senior League Softball World Series is for girls, ages 14-16. The Lower Sussex Little League Complex is located at the Pyle Center in Sussex County Delaware, and is the site for the Senior League Softball World Series. The main field seats about 700.     • White Marlin Open: Join us for the 42nd Annual White Marlin Open from Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7, 2015. The fish are spectacular and the prizes are huge —totaling more than $3 million. It's the World's Largest Billfish Tournament —held in the White Marlin Capital of the World. This year the stakes are high with over $1.29 million awarded in 2014 for the biggest white marlin. Prizes are also awarded for the largest blue marlin, tuna, mahi-mahi (dolphin fish), wahoo and shark. This year, we've added two new added-entry skill levels to add even more excitement to the event. See if you have what it takes to catch the winning white marlin and register today. Spectators are welcome to watch, as 300+ boats from Florida to New England take more than 1,500 of the world’s best anglers out to pursue some of America’s largest fish. Then check out the spectacular weigh-ins every evening from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Harbour Island Marina, 14th Street and the bay. NOTE: Parking is not available at Harbour Island.     • Captain Steve Harman's Poor Girls Open: The Poor Girls Open is a ladies-only billfish release tournament benefiting breast cancer research. There are also added entry levels for tuna and dolphin. This tournament was started by Capt. Steve Harman as a way for local waitresses and bartenders to have an affordable and fun competition while raising money for a very important cause. The tournament continues to grow with over 100 boats entering. Participation is not limited only to anglers, as there are silent auctions, 50/50 tickets, T-shirts for sale, and other fun events helping to raise money for brease cancer research.
