Description: Evenings at the Museum: Comparative Firing Up Demonstration of a Steam Car - The firing up demonstrations of a steam car is always at hit during Steamin’ Days at Auburn Heights Preserve. During this special evening program at the Marshall Steam Museum, discover the differences among three distinct Stanley Steam Car designs and how the automobiles are fired up: horseless carriage, coffin nose car, and condensing car. 750 Cyclists Will Ride Toward a World Free of MS
at Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge Presented by Wells Fargo, June 6-7
They're expected to raise $550,000 to support cutting-edge research and life-changing programs and services for people living with MS at the Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge presented by Wells Fargo, taking place June 6 - 7 in Easton, MD. Other sponsors are the Maryland Primary Care .
Riding 34 to 150 miles over the two-day event, participants will enjoy scenic waterfront communities like Tilghman Island, Oxford, St. Michaels, Trappe and ride on the Oxford Bellevue ferry after lunch. Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge is fully supported with rest stops stocked with snacks, drinks and cheering volunteers.
People who ride in Bike MS may do so to support family members, friends or coworkers who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. But, there are also legions of participants who live—and ride—with the disease, despite challenges such as fatigue or weakness. This year’s Alumni Picnic will be held on June 6, 2015 from Noon to 3p.m., rain or shine, at 1506 Harting Drive in Salisbury. Local government officials, those in recovery, as well as the general public are invited to enjoy the free food, refreshments, clowns, jugglers, and inflatables for the kids, as well as a DJ and other outdoor activities for adults.

Description: Join the Marshall Steam Museum at Auburn Heights for the first Steamin' Day of the season! New for the 2015, each Steamin’ Day will feature a special spotlight. Join us on June 7 when we will celebrate everything about trains. Help us celebrate the completion of a retaining wall and track project on our 1/8-size Auburn Valley Railroad, watch a firing up demonstration of our very own steam locomotive, as well as other special train-themed activities. All of this will be in addition to all of the regular Steamin’ Day activities that let our visitors step into what life was like at the dawn of the automotive age through special demonstrations, rides in historic automobiles such as the 1915 steam-powered Stanley Mountain Wagon, the museum and more. Football Hall-of-Famer and UMES alumnus Art Shell returns to the Shore June 10th to host the Art Shell UMES Invitational. He and celebrity guests will join local golfers on the greens for 18 holes at Great Hope Golf Course in Westover. Registration includes a pre-game mixer, food on the course, give-a-ways and an awards banquet. Tickets are available for the “Night in Havana” mixer on June 9 at 6 p.m. in the Student Services Center on campus. Proceeds benefit scholarships for the university’s Athletics and PGA programs.
