The Upper Crust:

Description: The Upper Crust at 7 East Market Street in Georgetown DE is proud to exhibit Plein air artist Gerilyn Gaskill and Pamella Bounds-Seaman along with Keith Steck, photographer who captured the moment “in the open air” on The Circle in Georgetown, DE., at their “Coffee shop and more… . “ beginning July 8, 2014. On Thursday, July 19, 2014, there will be a “Meet the Artists “ reception from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm at The Upper Crust where individuals can discuss their creativity. There is no charge and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will run through the end of July.
A recent Plein Air event raised funds for Kody Kids, was held On The Circle in Georgetown not only provided the artists with a number of rich and colorful historical designs but the artists provide insights through their individual styles and techniques. Geri completed her piece in oil, while Pam was with water color and acrylic. Plein Air paintings are generally done in one session and artists often add final touches to their work once back in the studio.
The Upper Crust serves made from scratch baked goods, fair trade organic coffee, breakfast & lunch in a casual setting. Part of The Upper Crust’s commitment to the community is to offer a gallery space to local artists who might not otherwise have an opportunity to show their works. OC Tall Ships Event:
Travel back in time at the OC TALL SHIP EVENT. Board the Tall Ships of the past Aug.1-Sept.01. The ships will be on display between 3rd & 4th Streets bayside. The Event is sponsored by the National Air, Sea and Space Foundation and open for tours from 9a.m- 6p.m. daily. Admission is $15, Kids ages 6-12-$11, under age 6 free. 2nd Annual Backpacks for kids/School Rocks Backpack giveaway:
Verizon Wireless donating 100,000 backpacks full of school supplies to school-aged children across the U.S. The will be donating 100,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children through its School Rocks Backpack Giveaway. Last year, the company donated 60,000 backpacks.More than 350 participating TCC stores across the U.S. are inviting local families to bring their children to the store between noon and 2 p.m. on Aug. 2 to pick up a backpack filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, glue and more. One backpack per child present will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Each participating TCC store will donate between 75 and 300 backpacks. Description: This is our 37th Annual Pine\'eer Arts & Craft Festival. We have over 100 artisan and craft vendors from Va., Fl., DE, MD, PA. The monies received goes back into our community, Police, Fire, Parks & Rec. neighbor watch etc.

Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art:

Description: Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their photos for the competition in one of three divisions: youth, amateur or professional, and in any of the five categories: birds, plants and animals other than birds, landscape/scenery, macro, and black and white photography. Designed to help improve all aspects of their photography, participants have the opportunity to attend a variety of lectures, seminars and workshops led by professional photographers. Vendors selling fine art photography and offering a wide variety of cameras and related equipment occupy the marketplace. Keynote address and book signing by world renowned landscape photographer Clyde Butcher will be held at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Friday evening. The Eastern Shore’s largest bingo cash prize event, returns to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Saturday, September 13. Doors open at 5 p.m. for early bird games and regular games begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission to Bingomania includes all regular and special games, including the Jumbo Jackpot Game. Regular game payouts are $500 while special games will pay out $1000. The Jumbo Jackpot Game pays a maximum of $10,000 depending upon attendance.
You can increase your chances of winning and help a local food bank at the same time by bringing three non-perishable food items to the game. Those that do will receive three additional cards for the first early bird game.

The 2014 Historic Georgetown Art Crawl :
will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10:00 am -4:00 pm in downtown Georgetown. This is a rain or shine juried art event, and will feature artists & artisans, and area art leagues & art guilds from throughout our region.
If you are interested in participating in this exciting arts program, you will find the 2014 Georgetown Art Crawl application with this year’s Rules & Regulations at https://www.georgetowncoc.com/event/community-events/historic-georgetown-art-crawl. The deadline for application to this event is August 1, 2014.
Georgetown’s inaugural Art Crawl was a great success last year, with over 40 participating artists, and many more can be accommodated and are expected this year. A small fee will be charged for individual 10x10 artists’ vendor space, but arts organizations distributing general information can set-up free. The Historic Georgetown Art Crawl will be held in conjunction with the Annual Farmer & Foodie Festival on The Circle, which celebrates our local farmers and their farm fresh foods. Proceeds from the Georgetown Art Crawl will benefit local arts programming and arts education.
