THE PROGRAM WILL EDUCATE PARTICIPANTS ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF SMOKING WHILE PREGNANT, AND THE EFFECTS OF SECONDHAND SMOKE. ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO SMOKE WILL BE REFERRED TO THE MARYLAND QUIT LINE.     • American Lung Association in Delaware, Asthma Camp: Time: 7/9 @ 9am until 7/10 @ 11:30am Location: Children's Beach House, 1800 Bay Ave, Lewes, DE Description: The American Lung Association in Delaware is now accepting campers to our overnight Asthma Camp at the Children’s Beach House in Lewes! Asthma Camp is overnight from Saturday, July 9th to Sunday, July 10th. Camp is a great opportunity for children 7-11 years old with asthma to learn how to better manage their disease and also learn that asthma should not slow you down. Children have a great time paddle boarding, kayaking and do a low ropes course. There is also a camp dance! Supervision will be provided by medical personnel including; physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists. Activities include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and nature explorations. Asthma education is conducted daily and incorporated into recreational activities. Transportation available for children in Wilmington, Dover and Seaford areas.     • Fun Day planned at Jolly Roger: The annual MAC Inc. Fun Day at the Jolly Roger Amusement Park in Ocean City will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 23. Tickets are $25 and are on sale in advance only. The event is held rain or shine. Tickets include Splash Mountain Water Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; amusement rides from 2-6 p.m. (limit two rides on the roller coaster and excluding Speed World and Zip Line); miniature golf from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and water basketball and volleyball for adults. Runners and walkers are needed for Team CASA, the official charity team of Maryland CASA Association at the 2016 Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, October 15 at M&T Bank Stadium. Named the 2015 Charity Team of the Year, Team CASA is a group of 160+ runners and walkers who gather to raise funds and awareness of CASA’s efforts to recruit and train adult advocates for abused and neglected children. Participants can participate in either the: 5K, Team Relay, Marathon, or Half Marathon. Start times vary by race; however, the first race starts at 8 am.
