Those who come into the library during our hours of operation on September 11 will have an opportunity to write holiday greetings and well wishes to our men and women currently serving overseas. A scroll representing each branch of the military will be available for participants to sign.     • Rehoboth Beach Library: Time: 10 am - 5 pm Location: Rehoboth Beach Public Library Description: Stockings for Soldiers – Delaware Inc. Was founded to help improve the morale and welfare of members of the armed forces of the United States of America deployed in harm’s way. They accomplish this by sewing holiday stockings and filling them with special items for the troops. For many troops, this gift is all they receive for the holidays. It is a way to send a “touch of home” as well as personal messages of support to remind our troops that we appreciate all they do for us, and to let them know that they have not been forgotten over the holidays.\r\nThis year the Rehoboth Beach Public Library, in connection with Sussex County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), will be a collection site for stocking donations. A container will be in the Georgetown Library Public Library from September 19 – October 13. Runners and walkers are needed for Team CASA, the official charity team of Maryland CASA Association at the 2016 Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, October 15 at M&T Bank Stadium. Named the 2015 Charity Team of the Year, Team CASA is a group of 160+ runners and walkers who gather to raise funds and awareness of CASA’s efforts to recruit and train adult advocates for abused and neglected children. Participants can participate in either the: 5K, Team Relay, Marathon, or Half Marathon. Start times vary by race; however, the first race starts at 8 am.
